OopsPlayer Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
OOPSKATE LTD ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to your use of OopsPlayer on supported Apple platforms, including iOS and tvOS. It explains what data we process, how we use it, and your choices.
2. Data We Process
OopsPlayer is designed to process media locally on your device, or directly between your device and services you choose to connect. We aim to minimize personal data processing to what is necessary for app functionality.
2.1. Local Media, Files, and Local Network
- iOS/iPadOS: We require access to your Photo Library or "Files" app strictly to display and play media files you choose. We do not upload your local media files to our own servers.
- tvOS: We may use on-device cache in the app sandbox to improve playback performance.
- Local Network: We request local network access to discover and stream from your own SMB, FTP, or WebDAV servers.
2.2. Cloud Services Integration
OopsPlayer supports optional connection to third-party cloud storage services selected by you.
- Authentication: When you link a cloud account, authentication is performed directly with the provider (via OAuth or secure tokens).
- Credentials: We do not receive your account passwords. Access tokens are stored on your device using the Apple Keychain.
- Streaming: Media is streamed directly from the provider to your device.
2.3. Subscription and In-App Purchase Data
If you purchase a subscription or in-app product, transactions are processed by Apple via your Apple ID.
- Processed by Apple: Apple handles billing details and payment methods. We do not receive full payment card numbers or Apple ID passwords.
- Entitlement Verification: We may process limited transaction data (for example, product identifier, purchase status, expiration date, and transaction identifiers) to activate subscription features, verify entitlements, and support "Restore Purchases."
2.4. Diagnostics and Support Data
To improve reliability, we may process diagnostic information such as crash reports, performance metrics, and basic device/app version information.
3. How We Use Data
We use processed data for the following purposes:
- Providing media playback, library access, and network/cloud connection features.
- Authenticating and maintaining connected third-party services you choose.
- Activating subscriptions, validating entitlements, and enabling restore purchases.
- Fixing crashes, improving performance, and providing user support.
4. Third-Party Data Sharing
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal data.
- Apple: Subscription and in-app purchase processing is handled by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy practices.
- Service Providers: We may use vendors for diagnostics, hosting, customer support, or similar operational purposes. They may only process data on our instructions.
- User-Selected Services: When you connect third-party cloud or media services, your interactions with those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose data where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
5. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational safeguards to protect data. Network requests to supported services use encrypted connections where available, and sensitive tokens are stored on-device in Apple Keychain.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- On-device data: Media indexes, cache, and cloud access tokens remain on your device until you delete them in-app, sign out, or remove the app.
- Subscription/diagnostic records: If processed by us, these are retained only as long as needed for entitlement management, fraud prevention, support, and legal/accounting obligations.
- Deletion requests: You may request deletion of data controlled by us by contacting service@oopskate.com.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Manage app permissions in iOS/tvOS settings.
- Disconnect linked cloud accounts at any time in app settings.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of data we control by email.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
8. International Processing
Depending on your location and chosen services, data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.
9. Children's Privacy
OopsPlayer is a general audience application. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
